I'm finally getting around to doing a mixing station and I'm looking for an external water pump. I can get a new panworld 20px just under 500gph for $109 shipped. Only need pump for mixing and filling sump about 10' up. Any cheaper ideas, or anyone with a good used pump

I bought this on ebay

It's a cheap Chinese pump that can be used internally and externally. So far I have been running it for about a month externally with no problems on my mixing station. The only thing I don't like about it is it does not come with fittings to use threaded pvc on. I had to use a barbed fitting (supplied) with flex hose to connect to my pvc to connect to the mixing station. I believe the flow figures are somewhat inflated but I bought over sized and am happy with it. It is also connected to my tank sump to do water changes via 50' of 3/8" poly hose. It goes up about 10' across 30' then back down 10' easily.

One good thing about the Pan world you will still be using it in ten years

That is probably true. I am truly unsure of the longevity of my mixing station pump and I could find no reviews of anybody using it. Time will tell. I would never use such an untested pump on the main system of my tank.

Yeah I think I'm just going to get the panworld. I would hate to change the pump in a few months

I have a lil giant pump on one mixing tank and a panworld on another, the lil giant has been going for 12 years and the panworld for 8. I do have a backup just in case but i dont see any dying anytime soon.
