One of my favorite fish. Nice looking clownfish too!

Also one of my favorite fish, but mine does not tolerate any other algae grazing fish.

This is it for fish. Im more into the corals. I dont want a heavy bioload due to fish. Three other fish are a pair of occi clowns and a neon dottyback.

Just be prepared to see some aggression out of the tang, especially in that small of a tank.

I don't know. She may be alright. She's keeping a very low fish count in that tank, and has tankmates that won't mind taking up for themselves and aren't algae grazers.

She probably picked the best tang for that tank. I'm glad she didn't show up with a Naso, or a PBT.

I did a lot of research. I would never put any other kind of tang in this system. The kole is one of the smaller species which is why i chose it in the first place. This is it for fish in this tank.

Congrats on the Kole Tang!
And for doing the recommended research.

This is one fish that I will always have in my tanks, but I must have the most passive kole tangs on the planet!
There's been a lot of threads lately about the aggressiveness of kole tangs and mine gets along fine with the other fish in the tank; including a mimic tang, foxface and rabbitfish. My kole tang will "dance" with a new fish for the first day without much physical contact, but by the next day everything is forgotten and everyone gets along.

Good luck with your new kole tang!

Koles are great! Nice grazers too, which is always handy.

Nice tank! The neon dottyback will most likely get really aggressive in time.

Yup. That's clearly a dude...

Keep us posted on how the fish does. I'm pretty sure you'll be fine...

Doing pretty good so far. The kole is out and about frequently now and constantly grazing. Not timid either. Comes rushing up to the glass to greet me now. The neon is pretty much a puss! The female clown fish lords it over him!

Great fish! May or may not see aggression. With the lower fish count that will help and looks like minimalist aquascaping and that will help too. Just watch out that bioload even with the lower fish count and have some kind of nutrient export in place to make up for the lower amount of rock. My Kole is fine with everything in my tank EXCEPT a sand sifting goby. The Kole decided to hate it and chase it every time it has a direct darting path towards it.

Tang is doing great! No agression at all.
