View Full Version : SWC recirculating skimmer

A friend of mine just dropped off a skimmer that he picked up for $50. He had no idea how big it was till he picked it up . This thing is huge. It has 3 recirculating pumps on it. He dropped it off in hopes i could figure it out. Seems fairly basic but was wondering if anyone knows the model. Ill post a pic in a bit .
Pretty sure its a good $50 investment.Wish i woulda found it first.
Anybody running one of these , and how do you like?

Does the skimmer run outside the sump?

I own the 250 version with 2 larger pumps.


At one time I was pulling some 60fpm with a mesh mod.


My advise do what I'm doing to mine.


Put on 1 good low wattage needle pump like a bubble blaster or similar.


Build a defuser plate for the inside you can ziptie to the bubble inlet tubes inside 5the skimmer to settle circulation down, and it will rock.


While mine runs 2 pumps. I only have one pump running and I get close to the same skim as before
