Combo LED and T5 and shimmer

I am looking into changing out one set of my T5's and putting in some LED's . I already have another thread about what kind of LED's .

My question is -- one of the beautiful effects of the LED's is the shimmer effect. If you have a combination of the two types of lights would you still get that shimmer effect?

using a reefbreeders + 2xT5HO retrofit I lost a LOT of shimmer.

It will mute it somewhat but it will still be there in the back ground.

Since you are running a hybrid, I don't imagine you will need the T5s on more than 4 to 6 hours per day to cut down on your bulb rotation schedule so you have some options available to you regarding when you want the T5s on. If you like the combo look you could schedule it so that they are on the evenings when you are home or if you prefer the LEDS and shimmer you could schedule the T5s to run around lunch time while you are at work etc.

I lost some of the shimmer when I added my T5 bulbs, but I still have some.
