Hello -

I am building a coldwater shoreline tank. The dimensions are 66" long, 24" wide, and 24" tall. The water level will come to about 2/3ds the way up the tank. I'll be building an insert with a rock back wall and rock breakwaters. The idea is to get a violent wave going as you would see on a shoreline. Based on my desire for strong wave action, which model Wavebox would you recommend?

Thanks!

Wave height is largely a function of tank length, the longer the tank the more a wave can build. The 6214 (they will finally arrive in 2 weeks) is going to be the best suited but I think 3/4" is as big a wave as you can expect. If you used 2 in inverse mode you could double that but I would start with 1. The other good news is the price will be much lower than the 6215, I don't have anything for sure yet but rumor is around $380.

Thanks Roger. Will the 6214 be as powerful as the 6215?

It is slightly weaker, but it will be much quieter. We rate it to 380 gallons instead of 400 as the pump is weaker and that was done to further reduce noise.

Ok thanks Roger. Sounds like I will need 2 of those - I'll wait until they come out!

Roger, one more question - assuming I use 2 boxes, where is the optimal place to put them in the tank?
