When are you getting the new DBi Skimmers in? Thanks!

We ordered them last week via ocean freight. I expect they will arrive in about 6 weeks. We can air ship one in for you but it would be expensive to do this.

Thanks,

What do you recommend for a 240 mixed reef with 20+ fish in it and likely adding more?

I would go with a R10-i or a DB10-i for a tank of that size. They are rated for larger aquariums than what you have but I would consider those rates for lightly to moderately stocked aquariums. We currently have the R10-i skimmer on sale for $562.49. The regular price is $749.99.

Thank you. Hope this helps.

Thanks,

That time frame works for me, as I'm still in the build process and planning. What size would you recommend for a 125 total water volume with mixed LPS & SPS with possibly 6 to 10 fish? I'm not sure if the 6DBI or if the 8DBI would be overkill.

Thanks!

What's different about the new version? Another pump upgrade?

The body of the skimmer is changing and the way the water level is adjusted has also changed. The new style body is basically an inverted wine/champaign bottle shape, similar to what we have seen from a couple of other manufacturers. We are still waiting on product images from RLSS but they will be updated soon...we hope. We still have a few of the other models in stock at a greatly reduced price.

What size would you recommend for a 136 total water volume with mixed LPS & SPS with possibly 15 fish? I'm not sure if the DB 6i or the DB 8i?

I would go with the DB for sure. Great skimmers but I feel the ratings are a little overstated. I've been running a R6-i on a 60 gallon cube and it's been a Boss for 2 years :-).

Thanks for the response. Do you have the new foot print dimensions on the DB8i?

Our ocean freight protein skimmer order will not be here until sometime in January. We placed the order at the end of October but they haven't shipped it yet. I'm not sure what happened but evidently that had to build our order before they could ship it. Estimated ship date is Dec 15th which means we won't have it in stock until mid to late January. We have an air freight shipment arriving in a couple of weeks but it will only be for the Apex ready controllers. Shipping via air freight from China is too expensive to order skimmers this way.

Ok, I will try to get these from RLSS...emailing them now. They haven't updated their site with the new versions yet so I hope they can get me the new specs and photos so we can update our website.

I wish I had better news but we don't have anything from them yet.
