View Full Version : Fish purchase...
So I'm eyeballing a red headed Solon fairy, how do you guys think one will work out in a 55g?
Red fire fish
Osci clown
Lawn mower blenny
Green Mandy
Engineer goby (he's big. 9" or so.)

Hey Bent, I know someone with one in a 55gal he's had it for a long time,it seems fine. I know you know a 55gal is not recommended. If you are getting it from the same seller as the other wrasse I hope your getting a killer deal. Good luck

Yeah I saw where minimum was 75g. Was wanting some input to see why it was listed so high when the fish only gets like 3". Swim room I guess?
It's on DD.

The 55 and 75 are both 48" tanks only difference is the width by 5 inches and 1 inch on the height. Personally I don't see where that is enough difference to say no don't use the 55 gal. IMO

Thanks, I just ordered him. Pics when I get him. It's a terminal male.

I'll be getting a McCoskers wrasse in the near future
GREAT...
Apparently LA screwed up and shipped the fish today instead of tommorrow like I asked. Now the fish is going to arrive while I am at work.
Will it be OK in the box inside the house until I get home? Usually it gets to my door at 10am. I don't get home from work until 7-8pm...

I kept one for awhile in a 50 gallon tank before I knew better, it became very aggressive within 6 months and killed a couple of fish before I could catch it. I suspect you will have issues with it. If the weather isn't too hot or cold the fish should be fine as long as the package isn't left in the sun.

I've found this wrasse to be very peaceful. Never had any issues with mine.
I'm going to have someone bring the box in the house.

It's funny 'cause my LFS is receiving several of these tomorrow and I was going to pick one up. She called it a "Tri-Color Wrasse", but I believe it is the same fish. They look very close to this:

Now I may let you be the Guinea Pig and first see how yours goes. :p
I don't have a lot of hope after what everyone else said in the other thread.
Argh.
