In the hobby 15 years, never paid much attention to mushrooms. I picked up a few "lavender shrooms" a few frag swaps ago, and kindof regretted it, as the colors aren't great. Now that they are getting bigger, I am glad I got them, and also paying more attention to the various Rhodactis since seeing how much "St. Thomas" mushrooms are selling for. I am trying to keep the tank 100% indo-pacific, and I think some of the Rhodactis actually look cooler than the St. Thomas mushrooms, even if they sell for 1% of the price.

One of the reasons I've stayed away from Rhodactis is they are known fish eaters. Is there any way to tell how big a Rhodactis is going to get? How big of a fish can they eat? I wouldn't miss an occasional damsel, but I'd be heart-broken if my mushroom ate my Goldflake angel.

They are just like anemone's in many respects. I feed it mysis when I am feeding my other corals and I do the same for my two new additions an orange and a green richordia.

I saw a picture of a huge rhodactis with a big female clown closed up in it. I'll see if I can find it was a cool picture.

Not the one I was looking for but fuzzy mushrooms will host clowns.

Rhodactis mushrooms will eat clownfish. I have had it happen. As far as larger fish are concerned, I cannot help you.

If that clownfish tries snuggling with my green hairy mushrooms he will be a snack, mine tries to get the crabs when they walk across it.
The big one I have has eaten several mollies, and chromies that think it is a good place to hide..
