My pair of clownfish has been spawning regularly for the past year. Last week I walked in on them finishing up the act and decided to take a video.

Cool... But what's that juvenile doing there? Does he get bothered at all?

I've done a lot of reading on raising them but right now I don't have any plans to do so. Too much work and dedication that I don't have the time for right now.

There's a couple of local guys who breeds them. If I ever get them to spawn on a tile I will give them the eggs.

Here is a direct link.

There's actually 3 juvenile's in the tank and they all hang out together with the adults. I have not seen any aggression, even during spawning.

There are 4 BTAs and 3 Gonipora colonies in the tank. They all move back and forth between the nems and the gonis. However, I think they like the Goniporas more.

What size is the tank, because I have a 50 gallon tank with a pair of bigger clowns and around 12 anemones and wanted to add some baby clowns to it to get them to host the anemones because the bigger clowns don't host any of the anemones

Following along as anything I read on forums says don't add extra clowns afterwards as it will end in disaster

This is a 65g tank. The adult pair has been spawning for over a year now. I got the juveniles from a local breeder and they were added to the tank at 4 months old back in June. They entered the nems within a few days and never left.

Yah after seeing this I added one juvenile about 5 months old to see if there was any agression and the older clowns haven't touched it they just kinda flinched at it whenever it came close to their candy canes they are hosting so im going to keep an eye on them and see how it goes

Yes, this is a rule that I took very seriously, and still do. It is a huge risk to have more than 2 clowns.
I actually had no plans of putting the juvis directly in to my mix reef. I really didn't think they had a chance, but I was stuck. I brought them home after midnight from a local breeder and was about to acclimate into my QT when I realize the QT's pump had stopped working (stagnant water, ewww). They were meant for a RedSea Reefer nano system that I had setup in April for a friend. It was 1am and I just decided to start the drip acclimation into the DT.

Since then the adults have accepted them without any aggression. It's only been 4 months so I am still watching closely.

That was fast. Good luck! It will likely try to join them soon.

The juvis and the adults in my tank all sleep in the same nem at night. But in the day they move between different nems and goniporas.

I just checked on them and they're all together right now. Time to add a couple babies.http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/10/20/5e3c58cc7df73ba60ce348512b49bcde.jpg

After adding the other smaller clowns to the tank, the bigger pair is still leaving them alone and also began to spawn.

I was home the last 2 times the clowns spawn and decided to take a couple of videos. They spawn exactly 12 days apart.

Clownfish Hatch Night Babies
I came downstairs tonight to get a drink of water and noticed the Anthias in the tank was going crazy, after I took a closer look I realized it was Hatch night.
I've had clowns that have been spawning for over 3 years now, but I never actually saw the fry or make an effort to observe them on hatch night.

I was quite surprised how large some of the frys were. And how healthily they were swimming around.

I turned off all the pumps and turned on the light to take this video. Please excuse the dirty algae on the glass, I didn't get to wipe the glass this past weekend.

Enjoy the video.
