Placemat of probes for salinity , oxygen, ph , temperature

What is the best place for probes, place them in the sump or tank ? Or i prefered to place them in the line of the bypass (getting water out of the sump and back in) .

Really any place with water movement is fine.
Some like to keep temp. probe in last chamber of sump where it would be the coolest.
