Somewhat new to this,i believe it's a asm g3 skimmer that I found, person threw it out cause pump was putting current in tank,I had a mag 9 that I hooked up to it and wondering if that's to big for it or do I just need to modify the venturi to get more air flow? The entire skimmer is full of bubbles but isn't making any skimmate? Any ideas would greatly be appreciated

So I have a ASM G3. I upgraded the pump to a Sedra5000 (500gph). Has been working well for me for 10yrs.

Your Mag 9.5 is 950gph. This may be too much pump for the size of the ASM G3.

You should also add a "silencer capsule" (pvc with 2x endcaps) This will reduce the sucking sound a LOT.

I'll try a valve on the pump to turn it down and see if that helps, had it skinning with the mag 9.5 when **** it down to empty cup and clean just stopped skimming, I'll try upload pic to try and show what it's doing
