Cody 27 Rimless Reef tank

Heres my 27 gallon rimless.
I was going to make this tank a sea anemone tank. I have changed my mind and decided to make this an sps and lps tank.

Some tank info:
27 marineland derimmed with a wood stand I found at a resale shop. I made a ten gallon sump with skimmer section media and heater section and return.
I made a overflow box out of acrylic and weld on 16 has one inch bulkhead.
Also has a man made shelf rock I made over 2 months ago been cured a month and soaked drain 6 weeks. Also sump rock that was in my 56 sump that I removed to just have cheato.

I am taking the 250watt mh, wp10, and sca 301 skimmer from my 56 column and putting it on this tank.

Going to take the lps and clam from the tank as well. My 56 is to become a soft coral, gorgonia:) and anemone tank.

That 250watter may be a little to much light! If you can put a 150w that would do you better.

I got an the wp 40 for the 56 in the mail yesterday I put the wp10 in vinegar to get it clean. I have a powerhead facing upward to keep all the detritous from settling on the bottom after I put the wp10 it has really good flow.

I am going to upgrade the skimmer in my 56 soon. Also waiting on led bulbs to put the 250watt ( that I already have which I will soon need to replace the phoenix 14k bulb) going to order one of them soon.

This is going to be SPS dominate tank with clams so the 250 watt is a definite.


You can see the trio of pajama cardinals in the second picture. My scape gives tons of places to hide and the fish seem to love it.

Here it is with 250 watt 14k. got to do a little wire management.

Moved over stuff from my 56.

Also added 3 neon gobies 1 yellow eye kole tang( will be going to my 56 gallon soon)
