That is some species of Rhodactis. They look pretty, how big did they get before splitting? (it looks like there are multiples)

Hairy mushroom is a common name that is applied to many rhodactis species. Some stay small and some get quiet large and have a reputation for eating fish, especially clowns that use them as a host.

In one hand...i'd love to see a mushroom host a clown.....But in the other it's not worth loosing the clown to a mushroom hahaha

Its is a Hairy Mushroom, they will drop new ones very quick if the water gets good for them..
Mine will inflate to around 6" when they are really happy

James what is the favorite location in a tank in regards to light and flow for your hairy mushroom?

James what is the favorite location in a tank in regards to light and flow for your hairy mushroom?

I know this is directed at James, but...
Had one in my previous tank, he did great on the sand, middle of the tank.
Drop a piece of meat on him, he'll gobble it up, before/after meat pictures attached.

Mine have been on the sand and just aren't growing. My fuzzy mushroom I have had a while and it was in a spot where it grew rather quickly but one of my anemones kept running into it so it did a bailout and floated around the tank until I finally found it. After getting it to attach I have placed it in the sand along with two Ricordea and they don't seem happy either. It's med light and low flow. Guess I'll have to try a different spot.
