View Full Version : Picture of 10 day old Clownfish Fry

I'm currently attempting to raise my first clutch of clownfish eggs. I have lost all but two but am learning along the way. Since I am a high school biology teacher I decided to check out one of the casualties.

On the 10th day I lost a few clownfish fry and decided to take a look at one under a microscope. Here is what I saw:

A dead one :hmm6:

I do like the microscope pictures also. It's amazing what you can see just in a water sample from your tank. There's some crazy looking critters growing in there.

Yeah, those little dots were moving around probably decomposing the carcass. Also the larger object below his abdomen was some kind of zoo plankton and was also motoring around.

Maybe a rotifer??
