Hi Folks,

I purchased a used Apex Jr. Controller and it didn't come with the instructions, startup CD, etc.

I plan to use it in my office but the network we have is a secure line (aka we don't know the network passwords as all our office equipment automatically connects to our home VPN).

Will it still be possible to use the Apex on such a network? I have the ethernet cable that connects to the controller itself but the Apex connecting website won't even come up on our computers.

Btw, I will honestly pay someone cash if they can set this up for me. I'm in Orange County, CA.

Thanks for any help.

Your first problem was purchasing an apex jr. :lolspin:

First, make sure you're properly connecting your apex. "Apex Fusion" won't work until your apex is 'online'.

From the neptune apex manual itself:

"The Apex controller is very sensitive to networks that have multiple subnets with different address ranges. The reason is that the flash utility has to create some temporary addresses on the network. Having something like VPN software for work or a game controller can confuse the flash utility, preventing it from properly creating the required addresses. So you're going to want to disable all of that. Wireless is also a problem for the samereason. Disable your PC wireless adapter."

A quick google search pulled up the following, not sure how much it helps:

This question might be better for the neptune forums. (https://forum.neptunesystems.com)

If you still need help let me know. I'm in Newport Beach and have set up a few apex systems.

If they have deep packet inspection turned on for SSL you will have all kinds of issues. Open a banking website and look at the SSL cert. If it says anything about it not being valid or provided by a proxy you will have problems. I work in IT and I cannot think of a way to get the Apex working over DPI unless it's white listed from the proxy. And I bet your net admins won't do that.
