So yesterday after feeding my tank I noticed my 2 blue star leopards swimming in tandem again. I thought I read somewhere that this is part of the mating ritual? I took a quick, crappy video with my phone from across the room. I've been waiting to catch them in action so I could record them and post this question.

They did the dance 2 times in this video. Once at the beginning then again at the 50 second mark, which was a bit more involved. If anyone has info to share that'd be great. I do realize offspring would be next to impossible but I was just wondering.

At around the 10 second mark, yes. But the majority of the rest of the video, the male is too obsessed with fighting his reflection.

But there's a lot of dry runs doing this dance in which no spawning actually occurs. Practice runs, if you will.

Thanks for sharing the video! Nice tank! (Hunter is a resident wrasse expert here so he knows what's up!)

I was hoping a wrasse expert would chime in. It's cool to see natural action in a tank.

Thanks for sharing the video! Nice tank!

Thanks for the complement!
