Hi all,

I'm in the process of upgrading from a 38g mixed reef to a 75g. The 38g is home to a pair of clowns (have had them for about 2 years).

I've put together the following stocking list for the new tank. Any red flags from a compatibility standpoint?

2 Occ. Clowns (and their BTA)
Flasher Wrasses (1 Male, 2 Female) McCoskers or Carpenters
Tailspot Blenny
Royal Gramma
Flame Hawkfish
Possibly a Mandarin (in a year or two, if pod production is suitable).

That would likely be my stocking order as well. Ideally the clowns would be last, but they are already a part of the family, so that's not possible.

Love to hear your thoughts.

Cheers,
Mike

i can't speak for the Gramma, Hawkfish, or BTA, i haven't kept any of them, but i had a pair of clowns, carpenter's flasher wrasse, and mandarin in my 75, and they all god along quite well.

my note of caution would be to make sure you have a very snug lid. wrasse in general, but especially flashers, like to jump. i lost my flasher wrasse to jumping, and i had a screen top and egg crate covering almost everything. sadly he found a hole large enough to slip out and went carpet surfing. very sad because he was a super cool fish with a personality 10 times his size. he would actually splash water at me if i was standing by the tank but not feeding him.

Thank you for the insight. I will make sure the tank is covered well.

Only thing is I would switch out 2 of the flashers. Even though you get as female chances are they will all turn male, then chaos begins, gladiator style. I'd suggest a couple different fairies to go with the flasher you choose. You still get the flashing but also the flairing of the fairies.
