They are good and reliable. The only issue I have with them is the salinity is 1.016 which I hold mines at 1.026.

I've had mixed results from them. Make sure to QT, and be prepared to medicate...

I would say a prophylactic formalin bath is a must with all new fish, but especially with those bought unseen through mail order.

The few fish I ordered through Blue Zoo all were ok so far.

The biggest difference I see between Blue Zoo and Live Aquaria is the responsiveness and response time of their customer service. While LA is usually quick, BZ can take a while and may require several "reminders".

Thanks for the input, yeah got QT up and running, do you think I should give it a day or two to get over transport, also all I have is Prazi pro and cupramine..

I always try and wait to medicate until the fish is eating well, otherwise I find it doesn't usually end well

Thanks for the input, so after he is eating since I have the above mentioned meds can I just treat with prazi pro?

I second that but would highly advise to give every new fish a formalin bath before they even get to the QT.
The most disease related losses I had were with fish I didn't give a formalin bath or did it too late (a tiny regal angel and a pipefish).
None of the ones I gave a bath died of a disease.

+1 I second the Formalin baths ( I do it during transfers for TTM). I would treat with the Cupramine too or do something for ich. I assume ALL fish, rock, inverts... Basically anything wet has ich with it, so treat for it however you feel comfortable

LFS or Amazon
best is FishVet's Formalin MS

How long do you let them stay in the Formalin bath? It says max of 50 mins

Usually I go 45 minutes to have a bit reserve. But so far I haven't seen any fish showing any signs of distress if going a bit over the time.

1+ on the salinity issue. Be sure your QT tank has matching salinity. I've never seen anyone who has salinity as low as BZ.

I've never seen fish having trouble adjusting to salinity swings. Fish are well equipped to deal with rather drastic salinity changes. Some experiencing them daily in the wild.

The only instance where I would raise the salinity very slowly is when bringing fish out of hyposalinity. This is because the fish's kidneys need to ramp up their function again. But as soon as you get to 1.016 g/l you can just drip the fish slowly in without doing any harm.

I actually prefer it that Blue Zoo keeps their fish system salinity low. It preserves the fish's energy and reduces stress and aides fighting of diseases. During shipping it also ensures a better oxygen saturation of the transport water.

Inverts are a different story. Especially animals with an open circulatory system (crustacean like shrimps or crabs) and animals with an ambulacral system l(sea stars and urchins) may handle salinity swings badly. Especially shrimp that are about to mold can't handle salinity swings - I lost quite a few that way in my beginner days.

Melevs Reef does a good job in this video about acclimation and medicine

On angels I do a Prazi Pro Dip for and hour after acclimation, and then a 10 to 20 minute FW dip before going into QT with no medicine. Everyone does things a little different, but most agree on QT

Actually, from what I heard from Steve Robinson, Pacific Aqua Farms (the wholesaler behind Blue Zoo) is better in quality and more focused on only getting hand caught fish than Quality Marine (where Live Aquaria drop ships from). Especially with fish from Indonesia and the Philippines that makes a difference.

Fish diseases are something you always need to be prepared to deal with, especially when ordering fish unseen. If not, it's your fault.

Do a freshwater dip for flukes. These fish are prone to flukes so be careful. That is a pretty common fish, you could only find online?

In florida I am sure they are but unfortunately here in Rocky Mount NC not alot to choose from...
Did a methylene blue bath for 45 minutes for any skin an gill flukes, ick, velvet, fungus and any other parasites and bacterial infections.

I must say the fish they sent looked very healthy and thick, it is about 3.5 inches. Nice looking specimen.

Just to throw my input in here even though its a bit late, I have placed one order with BlueZoo, so maybe i just got unlucky but non the less, All my fish were DOA or DAA within 24 hours. they went into a tank with pristine water that has housed fish for many months without a single death. Wasn't to pleased with there customer service either. Now I have a $100 store credit that i don't plan to use any time soon, if at all.

Thats just my 2 cents, everyone will have different experiences and this is just my personal opinion.

I didn't order many fish from them, but rather shrimp and crabs. So far I had not have any DOA and only one DAA of an acropora crab which they gave me credit for.
With new fish you always need to expect diseases and every new fish I get will get a prophylactic formalin bath, just in case, even if they look perfectly healthy.

As for DAA: I had that with a pipefish from LA that died the next day - you are simply never safe from that, especially if you buy fish unseen instead cherry-picking them at a LFS.
