I was using a Pondmaster pump for water changes from basement to the living room. About 16-20ft in length and 10ft in height.
The reason may have been that the pump is for freshwater.

What pump should I get now that will survive the salt corrosion?

I use a mag18 for mine. It's enough, but whenever it dies, I'll go for the mag24. approx the same type run - hard plumbed 3/4" pvc from basement barrel to spigot in wall behind tank. I use a remote control power switch I got at menards for $10.

Danner Mag-24 is the same pump that I have Pondmaster PM-24. The only difference is the cord is longer on the PM. That's the reason why I got it. :)

I was wondering if I could use a pump made for a tank overflow, that way I know it won't corrode in a saline environment.
