AquaticLife 115 skimmer in an Aquaclear 20 HOB?

I am looking into this skimmer for my 12" cube, but do not want it in the tank and would like to place it in an aquaclear 20 hob filter. The dimensions seem like it could fit the skimmer, but I am not sure if the skimmer will sit deep enough in the filter to work properly.

Does anyone have experience with this or have some insight they can provide?

The AC115 skimmer needs to be almost entirely submerged up to the top plate. I don't think that an aquaclear HOB will be deep enough.

Ok. Thanks for the info. I read about someone doing it in one of the larger aquaclear filters, but wasn't sure if the smaller version of the filter would be deep enough.
