Help I got home today and found my Cortez stingray near the back of my tank unmoving. I mugged him out in the front and I can see that one pieces of skin above of his eyes Is blackened and oozing some white mucus stuff. I know he's still alive because his gills are still pump and he responded slightly when I touched him. I found him near my longspine urchin so I think he may have ran into it and gotten spiked. Is there a way I can get him to live through this or is he dying? I will try to post pics

I just picked him up, he wasn't responding there seemed to be large amounts of dark mucus coming out his gills, I don't know if it was a good idea but I tried to wipe some off. Not sure whether he's still in there but I may have seen him move. Plz help

Sounds like a fungus or infection. With all of those tangs do you ever see them nipping at his eyes? You need a QT tank and some antibiotics

I got a hospital tank, what kind of antibiotics would u recommend- also I don't know how fast they get infections but this all happened within a few hours

I would go with furan-2, and/or kanamycin. furan-2 is fast but hard on fish.

Any wide spectrum antibiotic will do. I have Ciproflaxin I use for anemones on hand so if it were me that's what I would use. I suspect this has been caused by fish picking at the Ray
