After being in the hobby for 11 years and out for the past 4, I am finally back in and working on a 125g build. This site has been awesome for all those years and I really appreciate all the help you guys have given me in the past. Today, I purchased an established setup which included 150lb of LR and an approximately a 4 inch sand bed (4 full 5g buckets). I need to store the LR and sand (debating whether to keep and clean or toss). I definitely want to save the LR. I need about a week to finish the stand and clean the tank and 60g sump. I put the liverock in two tubs submerged in the former tank water with powerheads in each.

My questions are:
1) Will this suffice for a week or two?
2) Do I need a heater in both tubs? Temp is about 60F outside.
3) Any other recommendations for the LR storage? Light or no light?
4) I am leaning towards thoroughly cleaning the sand but I'm not sure. There is definitely detritus especially in the sand from the sump/fuge.
Thanks in advance for all of your help.

I think if you leave the rock in the dark for a week stuff is going to die. If you're planning on using it as live rock in a week I would light it and heat it IMO. As far as the sand do you know how old it is?

Personally, I'd toss the samd and start fresh, heat and light the LR

New sand all the way. Sand will have to be washed either way, so start off fresh.
