I remember years ago there was a thread like this one I'm making now that correlated that parameters of water by the health of the corals. I forget which forum it was though. Of course this is not proven but something Ive noticed during my reefing years, YMMV. Anyways I'll start.
Tyree toadstool - Salinity
Everytime my salinity if out of whack, my toadstool was the first to become unhappy. With low salinity, I notice it would not open. With high salinty, the polyps would extend but seem very limp.
