Hi all. I'm re-starting after some time off and I'm having a heck of a time finding anyone locally in the Maryland area (Howard County) that sells large tanks. I'm thinking 180 or 210 Reef Ready. I found Aqueon's site and they recommend Petco or Petsmart. That doesn't seem right.

I read horror stories of a company with the initials GC. I'd like to find a reliable product and try to do this right. I had a 125G, but for what I wanted to do, it wasn't the right fit. I gave that to a fellow reefer last night and wished him much success and happy holidays.

This is going in-wall in the basement, sitting on a custom stand. I'm not as concerned about price as much as getting a good, reliable tank. I'm fine taking an off the shelf 180 / 210 with Megaflows along the back like the 125, but would consider custom.

Any insight to a returning reefer is appreciated.

I just set up a tank from miracles. They offer shipping so getting it to you wont be a problem. I will warn you that they are pricey. After 2 attempts of setting of a marineland tank and returning them both due to bad seams, I can tell you that I am 100 percent satisfied with my miracles in glass aquarium. They can make anything you want and any type of overflow you want. The craftsmanship and customer support are amazing. The seams on this tank look perfect. When ever I see a stock tank I look at how all the glass panes line up and am amazed at how poorley they are lined up. My miracles tank looks like it was put together by a machine. I would call them and get a quote.

Keep the replies coming...good bad and the ugly. I appreciate the feedback very much. I'm trying to find a pattern with the replies and start checking around.

When one says pricey for miracles....I notice they have no prices on their website. Is that like, if you have to ask you can't afford?

Checking Aquavim.

Appreciate the thumbs up for GC - perhaps I just hit a few bad links. I could handle a price like what they show for a similar tank.

Email sent to TPP. Thank you.

Yeah but if you read the fine print it only holds 10" of water or so

Just got a 150g PNP Starfire from SC Aquariums and I LOVE IT! Its pretty. It included skimmer, return pump, plumbing, 68 gallon sump, cherry stand, cherry canopy, and a partridge in a pear tree for 1700$ INCLUDING shipping. (The skimmer will be replaced as its not the best but it will suffice for now since there is only going to be one fish going in roughly every two months because of quarantining). They are beyond impressive. There was a little ding in the canopy when we received it, my wife snapped a picture and sent it to the owner, we had a new canopy at the house within a week (California to Virginia).

This is the tank... and I was kidding about the partridge in a pear tree! The canopy is not on yet. The wife is waiting for me to get home so we can get it to the exact height we want it.
