Purple Sponge ID

I got a wierd purple sponge attaching to my rocks, i'ts not like the other sponge in my tank thats yellow. This stuff is tough! pretty much like rubber how it holds the 2 rocks together,this good to have or gonna be a pain in the future?

I have one growing under my Blue Ridge coral and it's been very slow growing. So if it's like mine, it's probably a good thing and shouldn't be a problem.

I don't consider any sponges to be a bad thing. They're filter feeders and IMO are a good sign of reef health. I've got a large pink encrusting sponge and quite a few of greenish yellow ones.
