I have a couple LM3-MPMs doing my water changes on my 46 gallon reef tank. Right now I just have them running three days a week for 16 minutes which equates to about a gallon each time.

I'll be upgrading to a 75 gallon tank in the next few months and might want to do two or three gallons at a time- 30-50 minute run times for the pumps.

Will it hurt the pumps to run longer?

No, but the liter meter is meant to run 24 hours a day 7 days a week exchanging a determined value each day. How come you only run it 3 days a week?

Three gallons a week equates to about 25% a month water change.

Should It smaller amounts every day?

yeah keep the lm3 running all the time, and just lower the value.

I'll have to figure out how to do that with my controller... They're connected straight into my Digital Aquatics Archon.

The liter meter has its own controller. It can work by itself.

I don't have the liter meter. Just two pumps.
