Hello!

There's a picture floating around in one of the tank threads of a coral with blue 'petals' that make it look a bit like the flower hydrangea. I can't find the picture now but I'm hoping someone recognizes the description. I think it's a soft coral but could possibly be an SPS.

Google has been less than helpful and I'm trying to put together my potential stocking list.

Thanks!

Probably one of the Acropora SPS corals.

I think the petal parts were a bit more broad than what I'm seeing in the acropora pictures which is why I thought it was a softie rather than SPS. I could be wrong though! Wish I could find the pictures.

Without a picture I can't suggest anything really. Acro was simply a guess. I'll say that SPS corals have the best blue of any corals IMO

Now I'm thinking maybe some kind of plate? A little bit like this? http://www.fws.gov/uploadedImages/Region_1/NWRS/Zone_1/Pacific_Reefs_Complex/Jarvis_Island/Images/MontiporaAequituberculata%20512x219.jpg

I've never seen a blue monti, do you have some pictures of it?

Aha. I found the original post I saw. http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?p=24249963 The blue one a little left of center. That a monti?
