so my 70 gallon fresh water tank is not really getting to much love since i have started my 35 gallon reef. I have a few questions concerning it.

1. how do i go about converting do I drain the tank clean it all and start over with new sand and all new water?

2. I have about 20lbs of extra live rock in my sump and display tank of my 35 gallon tank i want to use, so I can fit a skimmer in my sump. the tank has been up for about a month now 0 issues everything is living. wil taking out 20lbs of LR affect it and putting a skimmer in its place or would it be best to leave the rock and not go a protein skimmer route.

1) drain it and clean it completely. Get new sand meant for reef tanks, Carib-Sea is good. Also, if you ever used copper in the tank it's no good for reef since the copper would leach from the silicon.

2) shouldn't be an issue.
