Rodc5500 vs waveline 6000

Looking to purchase my first rc pump and I need help from those who've used them or are currently using them. I have a magdrive that I will keep as a back for my 75g. I have been comparing the two and I see a difference in price and apex ready as well as the warranty between the two. They pretty much are the same in watts when used at max rate and gph.

Any of you have any experience with these two? Have the pumps changed writhing the last year or so. I've read that most dc pumps are all similar as far as parts and performance, but I haven't seen any updated info on any of these. What are the pros and cons to these ? Which would you go with ?

I have a RODC5500 as the return pump on my tank. Been running 6 months. Its a sweet pump and dead silent. I don't really see a need for it to be Apex ready since it has its own controller. I can say it is a nice pump.

I also have a jebao DC6000 pump running my protein skimmer I picked up used for a good price. Its also been going 6 months and have to say it is dead quiet as well. Controls and all are pretty much the same as my RODC5500. I just felt more comfortable running the RODC on my return line.

Any issues with either one ? I plan on changing also because I feel the mag drive heats up the tank water too much. I'm hoping it'll help a bit. Any change in temp once u changed to dc pumps ?

When I swapped my mag out on my 75g there was almost a 2 degree temp swing.

RODC vote here. Never had good resolution dealing with RLSS and they are in my hometown. RODC has been easy to work with although it takes a bit of time with the CS back and forth email communications. The extra $60 is worth it, IMHO.

Yea my temp usually goes from 77-82 if I can close the gap even by a degree I'd definitely do it. I plan on storing the magdrive for that reason, incase any issues I won't be left in the dark without a pump. As long as they grant the warranty I'll be satisfied thanks a lot..

I have a RODC 5500 on my 180 as my return pump and it is a great pump I have had it for a year now? The RODC 3500 would be plenty for a 75 I had a mag on my 90 and it heated the water too much and I had a RODC 3500 on that and could only run at level 4. Silent pumps.
