I just saw a tip of my frogspawn floating around my tank. Why is it doing this? Its very healthy, constantly growing new heads and splitting, inflated and rich in color.

This is called polyp bailout, it doesn't like something about your tank, parameters are off, lighting or flow. A list of your water parameters is needed and a picture of where you have it placed in your tank will also help. How long has your tank been setup and how long have you had this coral?

That, or if it's been bumped or if getting hit with water flow hard, the skeleton could be cutting pieces off. I've accidentally done that before.

yea those tips come off very easy and have bumped mine a few times and saw a few floating.I am not so sure it is bailout though.

If u just saw a tip of frogspawn the culprit is usually a shrimp stealing food from it..

Mine does this about once a month, I have no idea why. Its healthy happy and huge, just about the size of a basketball, so I wouldn't worry about it.

I notice one of my torch corals will start to grow polyps lower on it's skeleton, these polyps eventually seem to release from the coral, the main portion of the coral always looks healthy and maintains its polyps. Maybe a form of reproduction?

If the coral looks healthy, don't worry about it. If a Frogspawn is unhappy the polyps will retract.
