So with my canopy I can use the mounting arms and the way it's mounted in my canopy it only sits 4" above the water. It's a 24" deep tank.

Is this height ok and if so what kind of schedule would you recommend?

What are the other dimensions of the light, and what size light do you have?

Hi I have the photon 48. Tank is standard 120(4x2x2)

following along. I have the photon 48 over a 120 also, and also on the mounting legs.

The light definitely sits too close to the tank for the regular lenses, I took the 90 degree optics off, but havent been the biggest fan of the light since then.

Currently run the light to peak of 85% blue and 55% white. Sounds high, but i dont think its too high because of the lack of lenses.

curious to see what others run this light and tank combo at so i can adjust.

may need to raise the lights ultimately, but still need to figure out how to do that.

At that height I would recommend removing the optics for more spread. With 90s, the mounting legs sit the light about 6" off the water, which will work for most tanks. However on a 24" wide tank you may want to hang the light around 10", which will improve spread.

I am using a Photon 32 with 90 optics over a standard 65 (36x18x24). The fixture is currently hung about 10 inches off water surface and at a slight angle. Would you recommend using the legs instead of hanging? The tank is only about 7 months old so doesn't have much into but will be mostly sps. Also wondering what would be recommended as to final settings on the unit?
