Looking at Reef Octopus Regal 150INT DC skimmer for my heavily stocked 75.

Is this overkill?

Anyone have any experience with this one?

Thanks.

That's the skimmer I use on my 90gal mixed reef. I don't think you'll have an issue with your 75gal, especially if it's heavily stocked.

Seems to work good for me and it's pretty dang quiet with the DC pump.

How long have you had it? If more than a few weeks, how is the skimmate production?

I've had it a little over a year. I tend to skim a little bit wet, but it produces skimmate consistently. Also keep in mind that I only have 4 fish in my tank at the moment, so no where near heavily stocked.

The thing I really like about it is the DC pump and being able to dial in the pump flow and the output gate valve to get the bubble production I want. Right now I'm only running the pump on 2 bars, but I've had it up higher too.
