Hello RC,

Ive noticed that my button polyps have started to grow a white bubble on them bubble is pretty good in size. almost looks like the coral tried to pop a new heads but then turned into a bubble. They are not growing on the heads of the polys. but under where the coral meets the rubble or whatever. Any ideas of what this could be? Maybe a big bubble of bubble algae but a white one?

Also looks like a sponge to me, if it's the white area in the middle of the second pic.

Yes I was looking at sponges and reading up on them as well. I think it could be either of them! Think I should let it do its thing and see if it splits if not take proper action to remove the the sponge in a week or two?

As long as it's not bothering the coral I'd leave the sponge. they are great filter feeders.

if it ends up bothering the coral pull the rock out of the water, sponges don't take well to air.
