Can someone please help me. I put this RBT in the tank a week ago. It seemed to be doing good up until today. I woke up and it looks like it might be dying. I know they tend to shrivel up from time to time. But this looks different. No one is hosting it. I have no clowns in the tank yet. I fed it mysis about 3 times in the past week I had it. How long should I wait till I call it and pull it out the tank?

Tank is 120G

Water Parameters - just taken

Calcium - 360
PH - 8.2
Ammonia - 0
Nitrite - 0.00
Nitrate - 5
Salinity - 1.023
Phosphate - 1.0

It looks fine. But you need to make some adjustments to your parameters. Mainly raising the SG to 1.025-1.026 then retest all parameters. Your Phosphates are very high but your tank looks very new and probably not mature enough to properly support an anemone.

You also need to test for Mg and Kh.

Agreed that my tank is fairly new. I got the nem from a friend. His split. What can I do to help it thrive better? I did a fishless cycle with dry rock and live sand. Waited almost 2 months before adding my first fish - diamond watchman goby. He's doing extremely well. I'm running current marine pro for lights and max spect 150 for flow. The nem moved to a more shaded area, should I point a small power head to entice him to move? Any help is much appreciated as I am new to the hobby.

Just keep your parameters stable and quality lighting along with good flow. Don't worry about feeding your anemone, they don't actually need to eat. Feeding them will make them grow faster. Feed in small amounts like the size of a #2 pencil eraser no more than twice a week.

But most important is the stability of the water.

They will go through stages occasionally where they will shrink and move then expand. Mine took about 2 months before they acclimated to my tank. I thought I was loosing them in the beginning as well.
