I tried to upgrade my mp40 because the last driver I had Bricked. It was the 2006 MP40 esw. Problem is that it does not have the chip that the newer drivers like the instruction pictures show. so it is not wireless now. How is this fixed? Did I just waste $75

Which upgrade did you buy. There are 2. One is wireless --> wireless, the other in non-wireless -->wireless. The wireless to wireless uses the wireless chip from your old controller. The non-wireless to wireless includes the wireless chip.

I bought the wireless to wireless, but there is no chip to move...

Unless I am mistaken the old controllers weren't wireless

I think you are mistaken. The board in the picture is the one out of the old controller it says" "wireless" it is a MP40w.

You will need to purchase the rf module also.
