Depends on lots of factors. I have one that I used for 15 years before taking a reefing break, and a further 2 years after. Never even replaced the peri tubing.

In my case it was a Perivar MP pump. controller died years ago, but the pump kept chugging along (well, two of the 'channels' at least). I still have it, but replaced it in active duty with a GL Doser 2. I don't imagine the mean-time-to-failure of any pump is 17 years; I just got lucky.

2 drews dosers for about 8-9 years, 2 avast ATO's for 2-3 years It probably depends on how much use they get. As a general rule it is at most a few minutes a day. So you cannot compare it to something that runs hours a day or all day. But still 8 or 9 years is good. I have 3 but the oldest is only 1 year and 2 months old. It is used for top off. The other 2 are used for auto water change and get more use. I have only used them for a little over a month now. I have not had any issues so far.
