I have a 6 bulb ATi fixture which I would like to keep, and keep the bulbs there. I would like to ADD more UV. Preferably with a low energy source.

Has anyone found a low energy LED light that is pure UV?

Looking to add it to a 24x48 foot print.

If I remember correctly from reading, T-5's emit a considerable amount of UV, already...just curious, but what would be the desired result of adding more?

What wavelengths are you trying to add? (and like above, why? Curious.)

BML can build you a bar with all NUV 405nm LED's that will put out a significant amount of UV. Reefbrite also came out with a 395nm supplimental strip recently, check marinedepot, but they are quiet expensive for what you get.

Pure UV light can affect the coloration of corals in a desirable way. I currently have 2 18" Led strip lights that are 9W a piece. I would like to increase that dramatically.

What is BML?

They do not have their Standard line on the website right now so you would want to call them for pricing, it should be less than the standard cost of the XB bars. At 4 feet this would be 80 watts over 60 LED's.

I think a few of the ATI tubes produce some true invisible UV light <400nm. Not sure if the intensity is enough for your purposes though.

I wonder if it's possible for true UV spectrum coming from a high mounted fixture with "light spill over" could be a danger to vision over the long term? An example might be kids playing near the base of an aquarium, looking up at the fixture.
