I decided to try a Bubble Magus for 2 part, and bought a refurbished on on flea bay. For 2 weeks, I was really happy and wonndering why I didn't get one sooner. Then it dumped 1/2 gallon of alkalinity in, all at once, and the motor physically separated from the unit. I think I had enough volume of water that no serious damage was done.

I am sorry I cheaped out. I am tempted to buy a new bubble magus, but will pay more for something more reliable. Any suggestions?

2 BRS dosers and 2 digital timers. $200 and done.

I use the BRS dosers. My one is approaching 2 yrs old and it's still running flawlessly.

I have a pair of the regular BRS dosers and a pair of BRS "Drew's Doser's" I like the build on the DD's better but all 4 are solid performers. pair them up with a $10 digital lamp timer from HD and you will be good to go for years. You do have to calibrate them (or any doser) before use, but that's a simple matter of letting them run for a set amount of time and doing a little simple math to figure out the exact rate at which they run. All 4 of mine are just a bit different, but all are also very consistent.

Before that, I had a Marine Magic dosing pump - difficult to program, inconsistent delivery. I was not too mad when my skimmer overflowed on it and it died.

Sounds like your looking for best bang for your buck. BRS dosers are very reliable and well built for the money.
