Ok so I have a budget of 1000 for a led light system for a 40g breeder it will be almost all sps and challenging sps at that so I'm looking to get the best led system and have decided between three systems but the real ones I'm looking at are kessil a360we tuna it would be a pair of the 360we and the ap 700 so is the 700 a capable of doing what I'm looking for and is it all that much better than the a360we systems???
Tha you all for your help in advance

I had the old kessil 150's and they were nice. I suspect newer models are better but when I made the switch I went with ReefBreeders and couldn't be happier.

The others I was considering at hydra 52hd a pair , or a 32 extreme ramping wifi sbreeflighs
Everyone I talk to that has just the 16 inch basic model says it grows anything like weeds and the 32inch one is over 300w

U think a ghl Mitras 6200 HV would be perfect. It has great spread and fits in your budget. I like the fact that it has 6 led clusters to spread the light out. Also the less are very close together in each cluster so no disco ball effect.

I just ordered the sbreeflights. I have not heard anything bad about them. Been a couple of days since I order have not got a routing number, but hope it's on the way. Wanted it before the Weekend, but oh well if not.

I spoke with the owner of SB reeflights he sure has something great going there his par and pur numbers are meeting or surpassing radion xr30pro. I was reading the lights put out up too 1200 par at surface inches of water. Btw the owner is a great guy knows his stuff saltwater anything wise easy to talk to dosent say his product is better then the radions or anything he just says u be the judge if there great tell me if there crap tell me I need to know what works and what dosent so he wants feedback constructive of course.

I have been looking at led for my next tank build and have done a fair bit of research. 3 of my local breeders use Kessils and swear by them. One breeder told me that he has the intensity set around 50% on the 150 I saw yesterday. IMO it was lit beautifully. I also spent about an hour on the phone with Kessil tech support and was very impressed with their knowledge and customer care skills. I will be using 3 AP700 units on my current build. This is mainly in an effort to provide penetration to 36" for softies and LPS. My reason for using 3 is the individual adjustability of spectrum and intensity. The AP700 control parameters and features are quite impressive as well. There are a lot of great products out there and you will likely get many opinions. So here is mine. Good luck.

Thankyou I am leaning towards the ap700 I feel like it would grow dos like crazy and colors are supper important to me and kessil seem to pull out the best in them!

Have you thought about a nanobox duo? I'm biased though.

I think the ap700 is to big for a 40 breeder tank? I think its 48in long.

Three Kessil's 160 with a controller. This is a shallow tank the 160 will blast it, the 360 you will have to turn them way down.

two 52s is absolutely going to be the best bang for your buck. If you said 3 kessil 360s I would say 3 kessils instead of the 52s

If I were doing a 40 breeder I would go with 3 hydra 26 units. With the 52's you are going to have to turn them way down to not fry everything. The 26's can cover the 18" width without much issue.

My tank is a similar size to a 40 breeder. I used to have Radion pro's but switch those out to one Kessel AP 700 and am much happier with it. The AP 700s a great light

One Mitras will cover that tank no problem. I have one unit on my 32x32 cube and have great spread.

? Not sure where you got that from, they are 20in x 6.4in x 1.5in, perfect fit.

I would not recommend an ap700 if you don't have an iPad or Android tablet currently.

I have 2 of the 16" basic SB Reeflights hacked to work with my Apex. The light is amazing. I run the whites at 50% and the blue at 65% and you wouldn't know they aren't 100%. For the cost they are worth it to me.

Thankyou all for the input on this difficult decision as all your advise was helpful and lots of support so Thankyou all!! I think I'm going with the kessil ap700 for the 40 breeder it will put out light way more than what's needed for a 40 sps tank I just have to figure out how to ramp it up and down so nothing burns. My back up is I found a deal on 3 brand new kessil authorized dealer 3 units of the 360 we tuna for just under 1k so that might be the better steal but the 700 just looks so promising and looks like there's nothing it can't grow and well at that! Any more feed back is always welcome. You guys are great here

You can control the ap700 with an iPad or Android tablet. There's currently no other way aside from the extremely limited on lamp controls.

So it be safe to say lights wise the ap700 can grow just about any sps no issues at all?
