Hey guys, I just set up and ran 2 Avast Marine MR5 reactors. I'm using BRS granular GFO in one and have BRS rox Carbon in the other. I'm running these reactors through a manifold to the return pump and with very light flow just for the media to tumble.
The problem is the media escapes from the sponges and hard to get the sponges to be totally flat when closing the reactor after putting in the media. I now have Carbon getting in to my tank.
How do you guys do it? Do you add floss on the top? Does it make sense to put the media in a bag inside the reactor? How do you prevent the media mess during changing it out and making sure it won't get to the tank?
