Looking to get the Hamilton Cebu sun 2x250w fixture for a 90g build but hanging the fixture is not an option, will the included mounting legs keep it high enough off the water?

I think it will. I have mine on the legs over a 40b and it sits 3 inches from the rim, and about 4 inches to the water. Mine is a single 250w with 4 39w T5's. I have no chiller and have no trouble maintaining 78-80 degrees with no extra fans. The built in fans do a very good job of keeping the fixture cool. The tank is SPS dominant with a few LPS pieces. HTH.

No worries. One thing I forgot to mention is that I love this light!!! I started the tank on LED and struggled to keep my hands off the settings, which I believe hurts coral growth. The fact that there is really no adjustment except for photo period removes some guess work. I guess I could share the lighting schedule too.. T5's are on for 8 hours and MH on for 5, I also have a moonlight strip I added that is on for a couple hours before and after T5's.

+1... The legs work great and the Cebu is a great fixture. I just gave up on two years of messing with Radion LED, back to halide, tank looks much better after only 2 months.

I run mine on the legs over my 180.
I was doing to hang it from the wall using the brackets
but the light was far heavier than I expected it to be.
