Hey guys,
I have a fairly new tank total system volume is about 48-50 gals. I am dosing daily 2part for CA and Alk via a BM doser with the supplemental dosing of MG when needed... I seem to be dosing what I would consider a lot of solutions considering a light load in the tank.im also getting a lot of percipient on my pumps and in on my heater... I can't seem to keep the levels consistent and up at recommended parameters... What gives??

Provided a snapshot of graphs used to track these fluctuations as well

Using Warner marine additives

I'm dosing 180ml of CA per day and 190ml of ALK

My my current parameters are:

Alk: 8.9 DKH
CA: 350ppm
MG: 1400 little high target is 1300ppm I know

Going to do a water change to balance things out..

Any advice

For reference, I have a fairly heavily stocked 40 breeder (almost all SPS) with 20l sump and I dose about 40ml a day of 2 part. Any chance you can overlay your alk and calc plots to see if they are moving in sync?

I suspect you are dosing past the saturation point and thus see a lot of calcium precipitation. As a point of reference I dose 264 mL of calcium per day in my SPS heavy mixed reef with a true water volume of 145 gallons. If you divide that by three to get close to your tank's volume I would be dosing 88mL per day, I would think even a very heavy stony coral tank of 5o gallons would rarely need more than 100mL per day. I would either stop dosing the calcium and alkalinity for two or three days, then manually adjust the calcium and alkalinity to your desired levels, test, wait two days, test again and divide the needed supplements by two to determine your daily needs, or simply reduce the dosing to 50mL per day let it run that way for a few days and see where you are.

I would double-check the dosing pumps and the measurements. Those results are very strange. Dosing by hand for a week or so and testing every day might be useful.
