I'm looking to get a t5 lighting fixture for my 60 gallon cube 24"x24"x24" How many bulbs would you recommend. Ideas on Brands of fixtures and bulbs, as well as type of bulbs. (It will be a mixed reef but I won't have many SPS corals) I can't suspend it above the tank it has to sit on the rim of the tank (rimless) (If I have to suspended the light so it doesn't get ruined by the water or to give me adequate lighting; I can it's just hard I have vaulted ceilings.) Let me know what you think. I don't want to spend a lot of money my max would be around $400

I light a 92 gallon corner bow with T5's. The fixture is a no, name brand, 24", 24 watt ,6 bulb unit I bought for $100.00. I bought it from amazon. I replaced the lights they supplied with ATI bulbs for around $120.00. The fixture does include LED's for moon type glow. Mine is hooked up to a timer. Some come with timers but $$$$... I've noticed no,difference between my units capabilities to properly light my Reef and grow coral than units that cost much more. No whistles and bells but so, what.

Depending on what type of SPS corals you are getting, you might be able to get away with having a 4 bulb fixture, but I thinking you may want to get a 6 bulb.

What is your fixture? Looking at Ati ones.

Is the one you got the "Standard T5 HO 6 Bulb Fixture by Revolt? on Amazon?"

No, mine is black. I went to "my orders" on amazon and found my light I ordered. I then went to Amazons site and could not find my exact light for you. I found a similar light but has standard sockets.

Look into the ATI fixtures. At 24" deep, an ATI 6-bulb would let you grow essentially anything, just keeping the SPS in the upper 1/2 of the tank, if not upper 2/3. Their 24" 6-bulb is a $418 + cost of bulbs. For a little extra above your budget, you get a quality fixture that pumps out proven PAR and stands the test of time.
