I'm looking to see what timers everyone recommends for my new T5 fixture?

An Apex?

an RKL?
It's nice to have lights on some type of controller just in case the temp gets high, you can start shutting down lights.

Good point. RKL is a cheaper route than Apex too.
I know more about the Apex, are the RKL reliable and easy to setup

If you just want a timer for your lights, I have these (http://www.homedepot.com/p/GE-Indoor-7-Day-SunSmart-Digital-Timer-15079/100685884?MERCH=REC-_-PIPHorizontal1_rr-_-203678095-_-100685884-_-N) and they work well.
