Hi guys,

I'm about to setup my CA Reactor and was wondering how far my CO2 line can be from my tank to the Reactor? I'd like to let the CO2 tank sit outside of my cabinet since I noticed that some screws on the gauges are starting to rust already! Talk about being cheaply built. :\ I had to silicone those to prevent rusting.

Am I restricted to a certain length? I've got 15 feet of spare neoprene tubing.

Thanks! :fun4:

Neoprene is c02 resistant distance won't matter. The silicone tubing from Petco etc is the tubing that is c02 permeable. You'll be fine.

Presumably you're talking about the gas line from your solenoid/regulator on your CO2 tank to the inlet fitting on your calcium reactor. Even the 2-5 psig after the regulator wouldn't have any issues going through a couple of hundred feet of tubing, so you're good.

BTW - it also doesn't matter whether the tubing is CO2 permeable or not. Even permeable tubing will have a near zero loss rate compared to the amount of CO2 being consumed by the reactor. Especially since it's at extremely low pressure after the CO2 regulator/solenoid.
