For my 58g 36" tank I'm thinking about moving away from led and switching to MH or MH/t5. Is t5 nessasary with MH for higher end sps? Should I go with 2×175, 1x250, or 2×250 (seems excessive). Tank dimensions:*36.5 x W 18.5 x H 21.*

I have a mixed reef now but will be moving my focus to sps.

Check out the Cebu Sun from Hamilton. T5s are indeed a nice addition to Halides. Run the 4 t5s all day, and only the halide for 5 hours as an example.

Thanks, would you suggest 1 250 or two 175s? I'm leaning towards two 175s for better spread. I'm thinking for a tank my size two 250 would be overkill but I'm not sure.

I used to use (2) 150 hqi without t5 on my old oceanic illumina tank (36 " length X 18" width 56 gallons) and it was plenty of light. You will be fine with the 175 watt bulbs.

I used my current light fixture ( 2x 250 and 2x t5 ) over a 55 for several months and all the corals seemed pretty happy.
