Return Pump Woes

Hey everyone. i just witnessed the demise of our return pump, so its time for a new one. It was a MAG 7 and we are looking for a new one. Whats the best return pump for a small 30 gallon shallow cube that would be a bit quieter than the MAG drive?? Any help would be appreciated. Looking to order a new one tonight

Check out the Sicce syncra silence pumps. I used one on my 40 and can't hear it run.

I use Sicce syncra also and it great. Also might want to look at the new DC pumps out there.

I would go with DC pump if i was buying a new pump today.

so I'm looking at the 2 of these. I'm just wanting to be sure that these will adequately replace the MAG7 at 4 feet of head? and if so, what one would you guys go with?

it seems like even though the waveline has a lower GPH rating, it has a higher GPH rating at 4' of head

As stated i would go with a DC pump. Half the power at about the same flow. Plus it should be very quiet and have cool features with the built in controller. Just having the feed mode button is very nice.

dang! i had a hard time finding this info! thank you, so with all the numbers in mind, do you have any suggestions as for which one is better?

I wouldn't discount the Jebao DC3000, just another option. They are silly quiet.

the dc3000 are a gen1 pump and I'm having a hard time finding anywhere that has them!

Amazon has the 3000 for 75 shipped! About to pick me one up for my 40 long I'm about to start
