I've recently purchased a 2nd hand Red Sea reefer 170, I'm currently in early stages of testing for leaks etc and went out and baught a return pump from my local LFS. The guy in the shop pointed me towards the Newa Jet 3000, to which I kinda stuck my nose up to a little as I've not had much luck with Newa equipment in the past. The attendant quickly assured me that the pump will adequately do the job required and he's never heard a bad review (also they had nothing in stock that would pump at 2000lph +) so reluctantly I took it.
I've plumbed the pump in and straight away its LOUD!! I though that maybe it was full of air so I gave i a shake etc but still the same. I've installed the rubber suction cups but it's still loud as hell. It's not a vibration issue as it's still loud if I suspend it.
