I had a major crash in my SPS stocks lately (like, all 50+ of them) but was in process of setting up a display fuge. Given the crash and the fact that I might well be moving in a couple years again, thus making a stick tank impractical, I'm wondering about my halide setup and making the 75 a macro DT. Currently I'm running a pair of 250W Radiums on a Hamilton M80 and the tank is quite blue and far from the 6500K spectrum. What, if any, macros would work under this setup? I have a good selection of fish for nutrients and really might only need to sand my 75 to hold the higher-flow species, or stick BB. My 40B would-be display fuge would be converted exclusively to a mangrove tank (the 75 is under a canopy).

If the Radiums aren't going to cut it for any plants, could someone recommend a good SE halide bulb? If neither is an option I might just retro in a bunch of powerful 6500K LED pendants to take care of it.

Two deep water red macros from the GOM are collected 30'-130': red grapes and dragons breath. At those water depths it is all blue.

Personally, I do not like the way red, green or yellow look under blue light. IMO, blue washes out the other colors.

Bulb specifications showed a Kelvin color of 6500 at a cost of $13 per lamp. While Kelvin color does not quantify spectral analysis it loons good for us.

Awesome, thanks :) Still going back and forth with what I want to do with my system, there are so many possibilities - I pretty much have a blank slate right now!
