so tomorow i will build the 30 gallon for the l.maculata i took the idea from dr roy caldweel

on one side there gonna be the live rock and the filtration and the small divider with acrylic with be filled with sand for the specimen

i 48 hour when the silicone will be cured i will take picture

the maculata molted today i was scared because he is in a critter keeper in my gonodactylus platyosoma tank until i finish the custom tank but he is top shape perfect molt yess :)

You have to tell us where you got this!

I'm trying to set up a tank for a spearer and I'm only finding things like a peacock on the market atm. A few places have zebras listed, but out of stock.

Must know where you found this gem!

Both Live Aquaria (diver's den) and blue zoo aquatics get them pretty often actually. If you don't mind paying shipping costs then you shouldn't have to wait too long.

in canada they are common in lfs
and i have a supplier for rare invertebrate i am an importer/exporter suppliyer of arachnids for a lab so i have many resource
but maculata come in large order only i have to order 5-10 of them at the time

in exemple at 2 lfs here they have
Odontodactylus japonicus
Gonodactylus platysoma
Odontodactylus scyllarus
Gonodactylellus viridis
Gonodactylus chiragra
Pseudosquilla ciliata
Neogonodactylus wennerae

Wow, wouldn't mind seeing if your LFS does in fact have an O. Japonicus. Those are super rare in this hobby.


Tank is coming along. Has the mantis made a burrow yet?

Love this kind of build. I think acrylic dividers look really smart but for flow purposes I use a pane of glass topped with conduit now. Awesome looking build though!
